The Brookfield barn is ablaze. Josh and George are missing.

Radio Times: The campaign of terror escalates further. Meanwhile, there is a rowdy night out for the Horrobin lads.

  • The Horrobin menfolk are having a lads’ night out. Quite noisy but the most exciting aspect is an argument between Neil and Eddie about whether Neil saw a wild boar or the Beast of Ambridge. Eddie has an ulterior motive: he has created a hideous garden ornament, so talk of boars is going to kill his trade.
  • On the other hand, at Brookfield things are very quiet. Josh is dissuaded from a bike ride in favour of watching a video en famille – he can choose, though David puts in a request for an action movie: tonight he feels like some action! Be careful what you wish for David.
  • In the early hours, Josh’s alarm sends him out to the barn to check on Gina; she is due to calve very soon. Over in Rickyard, Keira has woken her parents; they see the lights and they see Josh crossing the yard and correctly deduce that he is going to check on the cow. He finds that she has started.
  • Whoosh! The arsonist strikes.
  • Josh can smell smoke but is too absorbed to investigate. Keira and barking dogs wake Ed and Emma again and they see the fire. They spring into action to alert David and Ruth but then Emma discovers that George is not in his bed; dashing outside she sees the arsonist making his escape, tripping over as he runs away. Ruth soon realises that Josh too is out. David and Ed fight the fire; everybody keeps their head except Emma. Josh! George!
