The fire is under control and everybody is safe.

Radio Times: The nightmare at Brookfield continues. Emma and Ruth are desperate with worry.

Characters: , , ,
  • The fire rages, though David and Ed are working to keep it from the chemical store and the workshop. There’s no sign of George or Josh; Josh came out to check on Gina but she isn’t in her stall either. Incredibly, David is still looking for explanations for how the fire could have started accidentally. Where is the fire brigade?
  • Eventually the frantic calling bears fruit: Josh and George are together and safe. Josh had woken George – he had promised – but there is a problem with the calf; it’s nothing that Ruth cannot sort out and with a bit of pushing they soon have a healthy heifer.
  • The police have found a petrol can in the hedge. Emma already knew it was arson; she saw someone running away. The police will want to talk to her but her description is next to useless – he was ‘average’. George is very keen to see the calf before he is dragged off to bed; it’s been the best night of his life. A big adventure for the kids but it’s been no fun for the adults.
