Radio Times: Sausage night goes with a bang for Tom.

Characters: , , , , , , ,
  • It’s Sausage Night at the Bull, but Jolene’s not too keen on the yellow Tom Archer Sausages T-shirts. Fallon thinks they’ll make good quiz prizes.
  • Tom’s on edge, and isn’t pleased when Helen takes ages to get ready, because he’s promised to drop her in Borchester for her date with Ross before he gets down to the Bull. Helen’s on edge too, especially when Tom tells her the dress she’s wearing is OTT.
  • Ruth makes a big effort to look nice for the sausage evening, and has arranged for the children to stay with Phil and Jill, but is quickly deflated when David announces that he’s far too tired to go. He’ll heat something from the freezer. When he adds that he needs to preserve his energy for the grape picking, to which Sophie will be coming, Ruth is really upset. She changes back into work clothes and goes out to the cows.
  • Sam is still hosing down the parlour, so Ruth offers to finish so that he can join Kirsty at the Bull. But Sam clearly isn’t in any hurry, and stays on with Ruth.
  • The Sausage Night is going well, and Jolene has managed to find a very tight yellow T-shirt, so the logo is fully displayed. Kirsty is on edge because Sam’s so late, and when he does eventually arrive, he goes straight over to join David and Tom.Tom heavy-handedly tells Sam how good a couple he and Kirsty are. Sam doesn’t want to hear. He comments that Ruth was very upset at David’s behaviour, but realises that he’s said too much and shuts up.
  • Helen’s date has gone well, and she thinks she’ll see Ross again. When she mentions a new Tapas bar, Sam suggests a group outing. Everyone’s keen on the idea except Kirsty.
