  • Rob is being suspicious over phone messages again. And then he asks her to be at home but won’t say why. Then it turns out he’s ordered a new bed and all new bedding. Helen is amazed he’s thought of everything (because obviously clicking on a link on John Lewis is so difficult!).
  • The weather is looking a bit better to Susan and Emma. At least people will be able to get out and about.
  • Pat is telling Susan how excited she is about the wedding and knowing that Kirsty has picked the dress. Susan encourages her to think about what she will wear. She needs to look amazing but not so amazing that she outshines the Mother of the Bride. Susan also notes that Tony seems a bit more cheerful these days and Pat agrees. During a break, Susan finds a leaflet with details for Briar Cottage. Susan wishes they had won more money to make their dream comes true.
  • Tom is taking a call about the honeymoon venue when Tony’s new cows turn up. Tom tells the driver he has got the wrong farm but Tony appears and says, no, they are his. Tom and Pat are startled. She didn’t know anymore than Tom did. Tom asks him what he is playing at. Why suddenly beef production? Tony tries the hard sell. He thinks it will do well. It’s a winner all round. Tony says Pat doesn’t seem too worried. Tom says maybe not but what about his plans? Tony says Tom has been trying him to put him out to grass and it’s not going to happen. It’s his farm and he’s going to make a decent profit – deal with it. And he won’t be able to contribute to the wedding any more either. Sorry, but it can’t be helped. So Tom cancels the marquee.
