Radio Times: Ed and Will return to form.

  • Fallon’s very impressed with Jazzer’s new image; he’s neat, clean, and has cut down on beer and cigarettes. When Fallon is busy behind the bar, he clears tables and stacks the dishwasher for her, which leads to a lot of good-natured teasing from the drinkers. Fallon’s in a good mood; Rollo has transformed the band and got them 3 good gigs.
  • Wayne’s in a good mood too. Emmie has agreed to take him back in return for finding Rollo his slot in the band. Not only that; he’s got a job interview, but needs a reference. Fallon suggests Sid, but Wayne can’t see that happening.
  • Because Nic has taken the children to her mum’s, Will calls unexpectedly for a drink at the Bull after work. Unfortunately, so do Ed and Mike, who’ve had a promising visit to a farm in Wales, looking at Guernseys. Will is rude and surly.
  • Fallon asks Sid about a reference for Wayne. Seeing an opportunity to move Wayne out of Ambridge, Sid readily agrees. He’ll say that he’s a reliable, cheerful and hard-working employee. Wayne is delighted.
  • Things turn nasty in the Bull when Will accuses Ed of deliberately boxing his car in. He won’t listen to anyone, but becomes increasingly unreasonable and aggressive. Mike tries to calm him, without success, but finally it is Jazzer who saves the day. He firmly takes control, asks Ed for his keys, and goes to move the car himself, leaving Ed and the others extremely shaken.
