A party in memory of Sid is planned.

Radio Times: Joe and Eddie are in the dog house, and Brenda’s not the only one making an early start.

  • An early start at Keeper’s Cottage seems to be mainly designed to keep Eddie and Joe out of Clarrie’s way. She has not forgiven them. So what happened? Well, there was an argument over corn dollies; there was a fire; and Eddie made a loss.
  • Matt is up early too: once his twelve hours is up he wants to be out. He encounters Brenda, loading her car for Leicester, and apologises for all that she went through as a result of his and Chalkie’s activities. She tells him about her job but he is rather scathing about it.
  • When he encounters them in The Bull, Alistair is keen to get from Joe and Eddie the details of the rumpus yesterday at their field. Eddie left the handbrake off the tractor; it flattened Clarrie’s cake stall and spooked Barbarella; Fat Paul tried to tackle the pig but she escaped and knocked over a camping stove. The camper’s tent went up and Eddie has had to fork out for a new one but fortunately he was not in it at the time. It’s little wonder Clarrie has yet to see the funny side of it.
  • The Amside Properties workload is falling mostly on Matt: Lilian is off to The Bull to meet the temporary manager, Bruce, and then she is taking the three travellers to the airport.
  • Eddie muses over his pint whether they are going to organise something for Sid. A church service – not really, he was not a churchgoer; a minute silence on Thursday, approximately when the funeral is taking place – not really, he was not a quiet sort of fellow. Spread the word: there is going to be the biggest party The Bull has seen for a long time.
