Radio Times: Adam has some words of wisdom.

Characters: , , , ,
  • David and Ruth get a visit from the natural England rep, who is very impressed with the hedging scheme for Brookfield. He has several suggestions to make about wildflower margins and sowing, but tells them they are in with a good chance of a grant. David says he’ll go ahead with or without the grant; he’s fully committed to protecting the environment.
  • Adam forces a surly Brian to walk the wheat with him. It pours with rain, and When Adam makes some hard-hitting remarks about the Ruairidh business, Brian attempts to storm off. Adam makes him get in the car, and they have a heart-to-heart. Brian explains how he felt when he first took on Adam and Debbie – and how his initial feelings of duty soon became ones of love for them, and later for Kate and Alice. That’s how he feels about Ruairidh. It’s not a question of paying for his care; he loves the child.
  • Adam tells Jennifer about the conversation. He tries to persuade her to see Siobhán face to face. That way Siobhán will be left in no doubt of Jennifer’s feelings, and all the control will be taken away from Brian. Siobhán will have to accept that there is no place for her child at Home Farm.
