  • William is attempting to calm his brother’s nerves. He’s genuinely glad that Ed and Emma are tying the knot and can see that Ed makes Emma happy. Will knows it was never right between him and Emma, in spite of George, and he’s happy with Nic now. Will says it’s time to let go of the past. Ed agrees and they shake hands.
  • Joe and Bartleby arrive with the bridal party. Will sends Ed into church and greets Emma. He asks to speak with Emma privately, which unsettles Neil, but Emma agrees and they make their peace. Emma’s glad that Will is happy with Nic and he apologises for his pig-headedness. Will and Emma will always be friends and he reassures her that he and Ed are also making moves towards friendship.
  • An emotional Ed and Emma exchange marriage vows and outside the church congratulate each other on reaching this stage. A proud Neil makes his speech. Will does Ed proud with his speech and toasts the groom’s happiness. Clarrie and Ed thank Will for the speech and his agreement to be best man.
  • Tom gives Ed a gift from all at Bridge Farm – a honeymoon in Devon. Ed is overwhelmed by their generosity, but Tom reminds Ed that they remain indebted to him for having saved Tony’s life.
