Bridge Farm prepares for Christmas, with Annette as part of the family.

Radio Times: Bridge Farm relives an old tradition.

Characters: , , , , ,
  • The village shop is closing early but Annette is being evasive about coming to Bridge Farm to decorate the tree: it’s a family occasion and she is not. Helen makes it quite clear that Annette is family to her and wants her to be included.
  • Culinary Christmas past is the subject of Jill’s talk at Lower Loxley, though she is quite glad that today is the last day. Tomorrow she can put her feet up and let Ruth do the cooking; Elizabeth is rather envious. Deck the Hall really went well; Bert kept up the rhyming to the last and The Echo has done them proud.
  • At Bridge Farm the tree is installed; Tom is not delighted that Annette is coming but is charged with being nice to her. The fairy looks a bit battered and the lights are being awkward. Tom observes that Helen’s boyfriend always has an excuse; is she a figment of Helen’s imagination? Annette is pressed to give an opinion of Leon, which is clearly an embarrassment, but she is grateful to be included. Helen loves having her as a flatmate; life is so much more interesting with Annette around. Isn’t it just!
