  • Brenda apologises to Caroline for her behaviour. Caroline is sure no one will have noticed or would have understood if they did. Caroline makes an appointment with Jolene and Sid to discuss “their plans for the year”. Jolene is rather concerned.
  • David and Ruth are very surprised that Jolene and Sid won’t let Freda have the time off for a holiday to India – she’s not the only cook surely…. They pop down to the Bull for a drink after taking down the decorations. She drops hints that it is David and Ruth that are the problem over the holidays. The penny finally drops. Neither of them have the foggiest why Bert is telling fibs!
  • Brenda also sorts things out with Tom. She explains it didn’t mean anything. She doesn’t want it to spoil their friendship. Tom seems a bit disappointed.
  • Caroline has been told it’s the wrong time of year to sell the Dower House. She will be so disappointed if Grey Gables gets sold to someone else. The valuation for Grey Gables is better than she’d thought but she’s not looking forward to telling Sid and Jolene about the Bull.
