Debbie tells Adam and Brian separately that if things carry on as they are at Home Farm, she’ll recruit Adam instead.

Radio Times: Josh has a ‘brilliant’ scheme and Debbie has ideas for Adam.

Characters: , , , ,
  • Josh is helping on the farm now that the holidays have started. Usha is going to Newcastle for a work meeting and so is going to drop in on Ruth. That should really cheer Ruth up now Heather is moving into interim care. Pip is sending a care parcel with Usha.
  • Adam is going to have to cry off nets so Charlie thinks he will too. But Adam is too busy, even with Debbie helping. Adam tells her he’d like to put half of the farm down to herbal leys but he doesn’t think Brian will agree. Debbie tells him to compromise. He can do anything as long as he takes Brian with him. But Debbie goes on to say that if things don’t work out with Brian, there will always be an opening for him in Hungary. Part of her job is to find great new managers. And there would be no problem finding a job for Ian. Of course, Brian chooses that moment to nag Adam about getting the work done at Brookfield.
  • Pip is getting very excited about her job with a placement in Brazil and Josh is keen too. David sounds rather depressed about it. Pip will take some replacing. Josh is thinking about working with Rex and Toby with his egg business. They are thinking about ducks and quail to produce an all year income. David is very sceptical. The Fairbrothers will only be around for a few months. Josh thinks they’ll find somewhere but if not, then they won’t move away.
  • Debbie tries to encourage Brian to look at Adam’s ideas as sensible. Brian insists Adam doesn’t have any good ideas. Debbie warns him about the consequences if he doesn’t listen to some of the things he says. Brian insists he isn’t going to have the farm and his standard of living suffer. Debbie says if Adam does walk because he gets too frustrated, she’ll be first in the queue to recruit him.
