  • Usha and Elizabeth have a catch up. Elizabeth tells Usha Jill is worried about Brookfield. She isn’t sure if Jill wants to move back. Usha is surprised Elizabeth is considering the part of Annie. Elizabeth does think it might be cathartic. Her grief has been through so many stages – getting so angry with David was stupid and her attempts at relationships with Ifti and Roy were bound to be a disaster. She’ll just have to find a way to deal with it.
  • Lynda now wants Carole to try out for Jessie. She tells Jill that Susan has turned down the part of Lady Cravenshire. So Carole announces to Lynda that Jill will do it. Jill isn’t sure but agrees to go to the auditions which is more than Susan will. She is refusing to turn up.
  • Ruth whines on to Usha about how busy she is and how self-indulgent she is to have lunch. She also continues to blame herself for her mother dying in a service station. And then for apparently being mean to David and not forgiving him for the move. Usha says she should talk to him but Ruth won’t because the time isn’t right while there are dirty clothes. Ruth does acknowledge that she needs Jill back. She’d burst into tears of joy. Ruth isn’t convinced Jill will want to come back. But Usha says she needs to ask or she’ll never know.
  • Jill tells Carole she was a bit disturbed by Joe’s ghost stories as if Julia was telling her to leave through the medium of popular dance. Carole tells her it’s not Julia who wants her to leave, it’s Jill. Jill admits she’d love to go back to Brookfield but would Ruth want her.
  • Elizabeth tells Lynda she will play Annie. They’ll have to find the right Chris. She hasn’t seen anyone yet. And then Lynda has a great idea of the perfect person.
