Fallon returns but absence has not made Ed’s heart fonder.

Radio Times: Fallon finds a lukewarm reception at the Bull.

  • Fallon is back and keen to tell Ed all about the tour as she unpacks. She is aware that when she was last at home she put the band first, rather obsessively, but it won’t happen again. They have someone interested in managing them so she won’t have to try so hard in future; that will leave more time for Ed. However, Ed seems more interested in going downstairs for a drink.
  • In the bar, Matt is explaining to Lilian that the planning authority might not be opposed to a larger digester. This should be good news for those who object to growing crops for the digester. Lilian tries again to interest Matt in finding his birth parents but has no success.
  • When Pat appears in the bar, Lilian is keen to get her to see Matt in a better light, so rather than keep her powder dry on the plans for a bigger digester, she tries to sell the idea to Pat – who is definitely not buying. Fallon is wondering what Ed has planned for tomorrow, it being her birthday; he had clearly forgotten but bluffs his way out of it. Fallon announces that she is keen to live with Ed but he is in no rush.
  • Outside in the garden, Clarrie is not pleased that William so readily gives in to George’s demand for crisps and while he is in the bar getting them, George decides he wants a drink – not just any drink but Clarrie’s shandy. When she says no he throws a tantrum and spills the drink all over Clarrie. William returns in time to demand that George apologises; he begins to see Emma’s point that he is the problem.
