Characters: , , , , ,
  • Heather is worrying about details while Ruth is trying to get onto the road to Brookfield. Meanwhile, Jill pops over to Brookfield to check on the bees – and to ask about Heather’s tea. Seems as if she can’t let go.
  • Heather is happy to leave the care home and she reiterates her joy at moving in with Ruth and the family. Ruth and Heather have a bit of a sing song and laugh at the effort. Ruth assures Heather that she will never be alone again and will always have a home at Brookfield Farm. Heather is content.
  • Eddie meets Jill and jokes that she has moved up in the world by going to Lower Loxley. Jill is a bit uncomfortable with the size and luxury; it doesn’t quite feel like home but more like an upscale hotel. Jill wistfully notes that at least Eddie has a home to go to eventually.
  • Ruth and Heather stop at a motorway service station for a break. Oh dear, Ruth can’t wake Heather up. David’s phone shows three missed calls from Ruth. When he returns the call, Ruth is desperate. Heather is unconscious and Ruth has called an ambulance. The paramedics are working on her and she is being taken to hospital in Nottingham. Ruth is so frazzled, she doesn’t know which hospital but David says not to worry; he’ll find them.
  • Eddie is praising Rob’s abilities to William but Will is a bit doubtful. He is of the opinion that Rob should have walked. In any case, Will has a poacher to deal with; he declares he will be out every night until he catches the person after his birds.
  • David finally reaches Ruth who gives him the sad news that Heather had another stroke. Sadly, she never came round and she is dead.
