  • Lynda is so wrapped up in her panto that she is hardly listening to Fallon: Jolene has gone to a meeting and is also doing some Christmas shopping, so Fallon cannot leave the pub. In response to Lynda begging her to attend a rehearsal, she agrees, though she is reluctant to leave Rhys to manage on his own.
  • Amy has time to kill and calls at the shop to see Helen but she is coming in late. Tony makes it clear where he stands on Helen’s single parent venture.
  • Fallon is not at all happy with the panto script but she is pleased with Harry’s improvised changes. Lynda grudgingly accepts the new lines – when Harry has polished them! She hopes that tinkering with her(!) script will not become a habit but Fallon and Harry, once having got into revision mode, are quite enjoying coming up with new lines. Lynda insists they are not here to have fun!
  • Helen arrives very late at the shop having fallen asleep – bad night.
  • Amy calls on Helen again after her interview. Helen explains her concerns: could the baby be small because she has not been eating enough, or maybe exercising too much? Amy reassures her but recommends keeping chocolate or a banana handy for an energy boost. Tony arrives with a casserole that Pat has made and more declarations of support. That’s thoughtful – but as soon as he has gone the casserole goes into the freezer.
