  • At last the errant Jamie makes contact with Fallon. Understandably he is apprehensive about the welcome or otherwise that awaits him. When he does appear, Jolene launches into an attack, but Fallon, realising that diplomacy is called for, intervenes. Jolene will let Kathy know that he is safe.
  • Having updated her CV in working time, Lynda is less than pleased when Caroline announces that Roy will not be replaced. She lets everyone at the book club know her feelings, and there is some surprise that Caroline intends to take on Roy’s role as well as her own.
  • Despite his claims to have read the book, it soon becomes clear that he has done no such thing. Joe has watched what he thinks is the film of the book – only to find that it was another film altogether. Lynda is suitably withering, and when she finds that Ruth, too, has failed to complete her reading, loses no time in making her feelings known.
  • Jolene is still concerned that she will not be able to kick the nicotine habit. Lynda, of course, has the answer – positive self-image. Jolene is unconvinced. But Lynda has other concerns, mainly her impending inclusion in the broadcast of GQT. She is certain to be featured.
