Kirsty and Brenda smooth things over; Emma and Ed have a new dream.

Radio Times: Kirsty has to build bridges.

Characters: , , , ,
  • Over a snack lunch after their shopping trip, Emma explains to Kirsty that Ed is still in the doghouse. She had her heart set on Kenton’s flat. Her mum still wants her to move into Ambridge View – but she won’t do that without Ed. Kirsty explains that she needs to sort things out with Brenda.
  • At Brookfield, David is still incapacitated and is beginning to appreciate all the tasks that Ruth normally does concerning the kids. Actually, Ruth has enjoyed working with Sam on “her” cows; it was hard to give them up when she was ill.
  • Kirsty gets a cool reception from Brenda, including a complete lack of remorse for ignoring her messages – now she knows how it feels. Brenda does not know how Kirsty could have been so cruel as to abandon her when she most needed support. Kirsty could not bear to think that Tom might hurt Brenda as she had been hurt. Brenda believes that Tom has changed because of what he did to Kirsty. They have all moved on. Can Brenda forgive? Do they still have a friendship? Of course they do; they both missed each other.
  • At Brookfield too, the topic is Kirsty: Ruth does not think that things have really been sorted out for Sam.
  • Brenda reports to Emma that she and Kirsty are back on track. Emma is fresh from a row with Will that has upset George: she will not let Will see him on his birthday. Ed, currently out shopping, thinks there may be a house at Grange Farm with the new dairy job he hopes will soon be his.
