Radio Times: Lilian receives inside information, while Elizabeth lays down the law.

  • Lilian needs a word with Brian: she has inside information to impart. Brian is unimpressed with what he brands as little more than gossip but Lilian insists that two leading supermarkets are interested in developing the old market site; the council would therefore be prepared to pay handsomely for early completion of the new site. It’s just not feasible – and therefore Brian will not put it to the Board without more concrete information.
  • Jennifer has had some inspiration about her choice of book for the Book Club but Lilian’s eyebrows are raised by it – a bit racy for Ambridge.
  • Shula has dropped in on Elizabeth for lunch but it is not long before the conversation turns to David. Shula chides her sister for making the rest of the family take sides. Elizabeth flies off the handle as is her wont and bullies Shula with the threat that, beloved sister or no, one more word and they are finished.
