Radio Times: Times get tougher for Nic.

  • Phil is helping to plant the new hedge at Brookfield – hedge that he grubbed up, years ago. But he must dash – to take Christine shopping.
  • William calls on Nic unannounced and finds that she has been hand washing; her machine has broken and she cannot afford to replace it. Will investigates and reckons he has a mate who could fix it; it probably needs a new pump; Nic objects to Will paying for it but with a little persuasion she gives in. He offers to babysit on Thursday so that she can go to a friend’s birthday.
  • Christine reminds her brother that it was on a shopping trip with her that he first met Jill.
  • David is not really concentrating on what Ruth is saying about his father’s romantic gesture: his attention is on sending a text – so much so that he does not notice the cows coming up on him and he loses his phone in the mêlée. Maybe Bert is right that the cows have the devil in them.
