Characters: , , , , , ,
  • Betty and Fallon are in the shop talking about GCSEs when Ed comes – Betty goes into the back but Ed says there’s nothing worth nicking – and now his £60 has gone because he cannot borrow a cultivator. He gets advice about thinking about the future …
  • Debbie thanks Brian for the card and the flowers – she and Simon are going to a guest house in Shropshire, he’s been so romantic lately – she cannot believe it’s been a whole year since they got married. Brian seems preoccupied – he has seen Brenda – broadcasting gossip is not a good idea.
  • Betty is on the phone to Brenda trying to reassure her when Roy and Hayley come in – they had a really wonderful time in London – lovely hotel, all the sights, eating out and so on. They ask what the matter is and Betty says that Brenda is very upset because she interviewed a man from the council – and Brian has been to see her too – Brenda was in floods of tears – Roy is going straight over to see Brian, he should be ashamed. Hayley says he ought to get the facts first but Roy will have a word with Brian while they are at Home farm picking up Phoebe.
  • Fallon is talking to Ed who is not revising and she says he should be – he hasn’t even got a present for his mum – Ed asked her to come to the Goat and Nightgown after she’s finished revising …
  • Betty and Hayley are talking about the hotel in London – the Venetian Room, the champagne and chocolates when they’d arrived and Hayley is catching up on local news – Linda has been editing the video removing the “inappropriate” bits, adding titles and so on; they went to the London Eye, Tate Britain, Mama Mia, a club – and that was only the first day!
  • Roy talking to Brian about why he had a go at Brenda because if it’s true about backhanders it should be revealed. Brian still thinks that she’s been stupid as she had only hearsay to back it up – she’s been officially reprimanded now and there may be further action … even the sack, at the very least an apology on air will be needed – but the man who fed her the information is the real villain and he’s left Brenda hanging out to dry …
