  • Pip and David find it dreadfully funny that Adam called Brian a dinosaur …. hahahaha…. It’s 1.00am and when they get in from calving, they find Ruth sitting in the dark in the kitchen. Ruth is sulking that he didn’t pick up her messages on his phone and then bursts into tears. She claims it is because she is happy to be home.
  • There are queues for the bathroom at Brookfield. Jill is surprised to see Ruth there. Ruth admits she is struggling with the house clearance. She tells Jill how grateful she and Heather are for letting Heather move in. Then Jill lets slip that the bulk of the loan to Kenton is coming from Brookfield and Ruth is less impressed.
  • Bert, Carole and Jill talk about the flower and produce show. Carole has an idea of a wild flower class to help out the people where their gardens are still in a mess. Jill thinks Autumn seems like a new start this year with people moving back into their homes. Bert reminisces about Walter’s exploding marrow.
  • Ruth starts to try to help on the farm. David wants her to rest but she has to go back up on Friday. Ruth gives David her father’s old fob watch. David reluctantly accepts it. Pip says she is off to the cow track and Ruth claims she knows nothing about it and then complains about the ewe hoggs and the money they are giving to Kenton. She then storms off in yet another tantrum.
  • Bert tells Jill and Carole he is off to help the Fairbrothers. Jill is still sulking about them. She’s fed up with people talking about them. They remember it’s 60 years this month since the fire that killed Grace and it still upsets Jill even though she never met her. She is just a stupid old woman.
  • Ruth makes a point of sulking for the rest of the day and claims that her opinions count for nothing.
