Radio Times: David drops a birthday bombshell.

Characters: , , , , , ,
  • Joe has been helping Ed out with a case of milk fever. Not much of a birthday so far but at least he got a present from Oliver and a bottle of whisky from William.
  • Ian is still in shock. He doesn’t think he’ll ever be able to trust or speak to Madds again.
  • Ruth is still furious with David over being late for Josh’s party. He wants to call a truce. Adam pops round to wish him a happy birthday but then gets called home. Jennifer has found the ceiling has come down in one of the holiday cottages – looks like the water tank has overflowed.
  • The Grundys enjoy Joe’s meal out. It is a happy birthday. Though Eddie has translated the Vicar’s parable of the talents plans as a free fiver for going to church! Joe is thrilled to have all his family around him again and still has hopes for Ed being head herdsman at Grange Farm.
  • Ruth and David are also out for a meal for David’s birthday at Grey Gables. It is going well – until David mentions Sophie. And then he remembers the drinks party he promised they’d go to. Ruth can’t go – she’s already doing something with Pip so David will have to go on his own. It puts rather a damper on the evening.
