  • Still desperately worried about Ruairidh’s future, Siobhán prepares to fly to Dublin to begin her treatment, and to see her child. Elizabeth tries to get Siobhán to eat or to take a walk, but Siobhán is too upset. She feels she must speak to Jennifer, to thank her for offering to take Ruairidh on, and to reassure herself that he will be loved there.
  • Eddie makes a rare appearance at church, to hand over his sponsorship money, and declares that he won’t touch a drop until the Town Crier competition is over. Alan asks him to fix a leaking church toilet, but Eddie claims he’s too nervous about the competition to do it. Clarrie is not pleased.
  • At Home Farm, Siobhán encounters Adam, who asks his mother if she will see Siobhán. Angrily, Jennifer refuses, and orders Adam to tell Siobhán she has no right to be there. It doesn’t take much for Siobhán to realise that Brian has not told her the truth, and that Jennifer has no intention of becoming a loving mother to Ruairidh.
  • A frantic Brian finds Siobhán waiting for a taxi back to Lower Loxley. He tries to calm her down, insisting that it’s all settled. But Siobhán can see the truth of the situation. She cancels her flight home; she has got to settle Ruairidh’s future before she dies.
