Characters: Bert, Hayley, Jack, Kathy, Lynda, Peggy, Phil- The latest cattle to have reacted to their TB tests are leaving Brookfield for slaughter – and Phil’s already talking about their replacements.
- Higgs is doubtful for tonight’s opening night so Jack’s practicing with Lynda (who is herself stepping into the breach – as prompter). Unfortunately, Jack recomendation for Higgs to nurse his throat with port and lemon worked a little too well – and Higgs was rolling drunk! Jack stepped into the breach superbly though, playing a tremendous dame – alongside a surprisingly good pantomime cow from Baggy and Snatch!
- Disaster struck the panto all the same. Just when it seemed as though all the problems were behind them a burst water pipe in the ladies entailed a callout for the fire brigade and much hilarity for the audience.
