There may be more harmonious workings between the Grundys and the Fairbrothers and Pip and Matthew have also struck up a close working relationship.

Radio Times: It might be happy anniversary for David and Ruth, and Toby has a proposition.

Characters: , , , , , , ,
  • Lynda has offered Jill, Christine and Peggy the role that Carol has had to vacate. All have declined. This comes as a relief to David, as he’ll already be seeing his sister in the buff! David’s frustrated that he can’t turn his hand to caring for the ewe he’s come across which is still limping. He later calls Ruth to acknowledge their anniversary, but the call goes straight to voicemail.
  • Rex quickly changes the subject when Toby expresses barely disguised jealousy over Matthew being around Pip. Of greater concern, is how they’ll dress the number of birds they have on their hands. With only theoretical guidance, Rex is certain it will take them twice as long as it would an experienced hand. Toby has a plan. Clarrie and Joe, who are moving out of Grey Gables and packing what they need to take to Grange Farm, receive a visit from Toby. He offers a place on his farmers’ market stall for any unsold turkeys, in exchange for assistance with dressing the geese, with remuneration of course. Joe is quick to rebuff the offer, but Clarrie gives it due consideration.
  • Pip and Matthew are working well together. Pip invites him to Young Farmers and he invites her out for a Christmas drink, which she accepts. Jill observes the pair and comments to David that she thinks more than just a working relationship may develop.
