Radio Times: Tony suggests a compromise

Characters: , , , , ,
  • Harmony might be finally breaking out at Bridge Farm. Tommy has passed his driving test, but is adamant that he’s not returning to continue doing A levels. Meanwhile his mother is sure that this is a mistake. Tony suggests a compromise, a day release course in farming leading to a NVQ, one day at Borchester College, four days on the farm. He’s already spoken to a tutor and he can do the farm work at home. Pat’s still not keen, but it’s better than nothing and, Tommy concedes, better for him.
  • Janet’s showing a group of tourists around the church, Bert’s not too impressed, but after questioning some facts about the architecture he’s too busy playing to the galleries to continue worrying! He’s also produced another quiz sheet – 70 cryptic clues on cars, which Shula and Janet are not altogether taken by!
  • Shula’s been visiting the stables to discuss her partnership with Chris – only to bump into Alistair, who she can’t seem to avoid this week. She and Janet chat and Janet’s very sympathetic about her guilt, but can only advise her to work on her self-confidence – and Shula can only hope she rebuilds it before it’s too late.
